"Après moi le déluge" is a spatial-auditory narrative without beginning and end, without chronology.

At the center of the narrative is the sea, symbolizing continuity, infinity, longing, freedom, distance, subconsciousness, the unknown, refreshment, recovery, fertility, prosperity, power, colonization, natural force, and destruction. The steadily rolling waves are the heartbeat of our history.

The images are based on very personal ideas, interpretations, and memories of an image of (Western and Central) Europe. Mythology and archaic motifs find their way into the imagery, as well as pop culture, high culture, art historical references, and societal themes. The starting point was the significance of the sea for the development of Europe. The narrative is intentionally created solely through images and music, completely devoid of text except for the title, a quote by the french king Louis XV, to enable a very intuitive and emotional perception of the artwork.
